The Asian Studies WWW VL keeps track of leading networked information resources in the
field of Asian studies. This facility is provided by the Australian National University (ANU) and
is updated almost daily. It is the best starting point we have found to get to Internet sites in
specific Asian countries, to find on-line media sources in these countries, and to get to sites
offering such information as stock market and currency quotations.

Set up by Creative Online Enterprises, this site headlines the latest news of the region and also
has an excellent search engine, with links to both the English and local language press in the
region. Also has good links to the latest market information on stocks and commodities from
countries across Asia.

Keeps track of leading on-line serials of value/significance to researchers in Asian and Pacific

China/Chinese-Related Web Sites
Extremely comprehensive linked index containing everything from news and newspaper links to
China-related USENET Newsgroups. Also has information on Hong Kong and Taiwan. This
really is far and away the most comprehensive site on China we have found and it can take a
while to wade through, but the creator of this site (Weiqing Huang) has including a useful rating
system and it is probably the best starting point we have found for information about a broad
range of China-related topics.

Many of the Internet Service Providers in Hong Kong (and there are a lot of them) also have
good gateway pages. This is a case of confusion by numbers, and sticking with the Chinese
University page tends to simplify matters.
